Billiards - Free Daily Play and Billiard League
Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 3:30 pm, Tuesday/Thursday 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
Billiards League*
Monday (*April - September) 12:00 pm
Description: Come play a "round of pool" with friends. The billiards room at the center offers everything you need to get the game going. You can “drop-in” Monday through Friday to use of the tables (free to play) or join our popular Spring/Summer Billiards League. The league runs from April - September, games are every Monday at 12:00 PM. At this time, we ask players to bring their own equipment (cue and chalk) to the center. Please call the center for additional information or contact the Billiards League Coordinator for league details.
Bocce League*
Monday - Friday (*June - October) 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Description: Also known as Italian lawn bowling, is one of the most widely played games in the world. The game can be played by people of all ages and skill levels. The Summer Bocce League is held from June - October, play is Monday through Friday starting at 9:30 AM. Registration begins in May, visit the center to register. No experience is necessary. Please call or visit the center for additional information.
Coloring Club
Wednesday 1:00 pm
Description: Studies show that coloring has many beneficial outcomes, it supports wellness and stimulates brain areas connected to your motor skills, senses and creativity. Coloring has relaxation and de-stressing powers. Join the coloring group - be creative, stay inside the lines or stray outside the lines - it is just important to have fun! Please bring your own coloring book, tablet, colored pencils, gel pens or markers…whichever medium you desire!
Dart League*
Friday (*November - April) 11:45 am
Description: Darts is a game of exercising your aim that can be achieved through strong focus and practice. Join our popular Fall/Winter Dart League, registration begins in October, games are held from November - April. The exact day/time of play will be announced closer to the season. Please contact the center for details.
Doodles and Drawings
Thursday 10:30 am
The instructor will provide detailed step-by-step instructions so participants can draw (and be proud of) the weekly still life pictures created in this class. The artists can bring their drawings to Coloring Club to add a bit of color to the pencil drawings. Please bring a drawing pad and a #2 pencil to class. All levels are welcome, no experience is necessary. Just have fun!
Golf League*
Friday (*April - September) 8:00 am
The Spring/Summer Golf League is open to all members of the senior center. Men and women can join the league anytime during the season. Golfers play at the Neshaminy Valley Golf Club every Friday from April - September, tee times begin at 8:00 AM. Please contact the Golf League Coordinator "FORE" more information and to schedule a tee time.
Spanish*
*Course dates are announced in the newsletter and on the website
Description: The center offers THREE levels of Spanish classes: Beginner I is for those who are new to the language; Beginner II is for those who have had Spanish in the past (or attended Beginner I) and would like to increase their vocabulary; Refresher is for those who understand grammar and conversation rules but need to perfect their skills. The Spanish classes are eight-weeks long and run three times a year. Please call or visit the senior center’s website for class announcements. *There is a fee for this class.
Table Shuffleboard League*
Tuesday - Friday (*November-April) 9:15 am or 11:00 am from
Description: Table Shuffleboard is fun for any skill level, regardless of your strength or size. Shuffleboard helps to develop hand-eye coordination and requires finesse and a soft touch. Come give it a try, meet new people, have fun and reap positive health benefits! The fall/winter league runs from November - April, games are held Tuesday - Friday. Registration begins in October. Join the fun, no experience is necessary. Please call or visit the center for details.
Table Tennis (aka Ping Pong)
Monday 1:30 pm and Friday 12:00 pm
Description: A great deal of fun while strengthening your hand-eye coordination. Join the group, be "on the ball" and volley for consistent play. Games are held on Monday and Friday afternoons and give it a try!
Watercolors
Tuesday 9:30 am
Description: Watercolors take place in the art room on Tuesday morning. Since this an "open studio" without an instructor, there is not a fee to participate. It is a wonderful opportunity to enhance your skills and socialize with your peers. Please bring your own supplies. Class space is limited, please call the senior center to register.
Wood Carving
Description: The Wood Carving group meets to practice, learn and create wood-carved objects. Beginners are welcome! Stop in and visit with the group to learn about woodcarving. Please bring your own wood carving tools to take part.
